Swastik, another symbol associated with the pooja, is a very auspicious symbol to display outside the house. Draw it on either side of the door at a height of 2/3rd from the floor. This will protect your house and ensure that only positive energies enter your house.


Fresh flower decorations bring in a fresh breath of positive energy into the house. Flower garlands on the main door are a great way to attract auspicious energies into the house. But do remember to remove them the moment they start to wilt or else the prosperous energy wouldn’t take long to turn sides.


Pooja ceremony is conducted to seek blessings of Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi. While praying, ensure that the idols are placed in such a way that you are facing the West directione because this zone denotes for Goddess Laxmi ji.


Try to keep the spaces open and house properly lit. Not even a single corner of the home should be left in the dark. Draw a silver swastika on the main door to keep the ills out of your homes. Stamp small footprints of Godess Laxmi from the entrance of the home to inside. Hanging of Torak containing leaves of Peepal, Kaner and Toran at the entrance helps in purifying the environment.


Decorate North East corner with yellow flowers.


North portion of the house is associated with wealth, so lit up that area during Diwali.


Move any 27 things in the house: According to the Science of placement, it is believed that changing the direction of any 27 things in the house during Diwali can bring magical results. It is not necessary that the things that you wish to shift must be heavy or big ones, changing the direction of even a small decoration item can bring positive changes.
